Hand painted "Rainbow Blossom" on Santorini Stone

$35.00
Sold Out

Hand-painted “Rainbow Blossom” design on a Santorini stone. To create this piece I used Sakura Gelly Roll gel pens for vibrant color, then finished with a fine-line gel pen for crisp outlining. I spray 4–5 light coats of matte sealer for protection and a smooth finish. Each stone is signed on the reverse side. This item includes a small black wooden easel for display.

Santorini Stone is a type of high-quality white marble, often tumbled smooth for landscaping and prized for its subtle sparkle, and also a brand of smooth, flat white rocks popular for rock painting and crafts because their even, polished surface makes them an ideal canvas for detailed artwork.

The stones are water resistant and can be gently cleaned or dusted with a soft, dry cloth as needed. These pieces are intended for indoor display, kept out of the rain and away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve their color and finish.

I started making Ukrainian Pysanky again. I used to make these eggs about 30 years ago using hen and goose eggs (right). Currently I’m experimenting with decorating wooden ones.
